Website Performance Optimization
Website performance optimization covering hosting, caching, images, fonts, scripts and code so pages load and respond quickly.
Speed & Conversion
Faster pages and more conversions from the traffic you already have, measured on real users and fixed by developers.
Introduction
EIT Connect's website optimization services make your site faster and better at turning visitors into customers. Speed and conversions are closely linked: slow pages lose visitors before they see your offer, and confusing journeys lose them after. Most agencies handle one or the other. We measure both on real users, find the issues costing you the most, and have our developers fix them, whatever platform your site runs on.

Know the Metrics
| Metric | What it measures | Good score | Common fixes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | How fast the main content appears | 2.5 seconds or less | Faster server response, optimised hero images, fewer render-blocking files |
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | How quickly the page responds to taps and clicks | 200 milliseconds or less | Less JavaScript, fewer heavy third-party scripts, lighter event handling |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | How much the layout jumps while loading | 0.1 or less | Image and ad dimensions set, font loading controlled, no late-inserted banners |
Google assesses these at the 75th percentile of real visits. INP replaced First Input Delay as a Core Web Vital in March 2024.
Read the Right Numbers
A PageSpeed Insights score out of 100 comes from a single simulated test (lab data). Google's Core Web Vitals assessment uses real visits from Chrome users over the previous 28 days (field data). That's why a site can score well in the lab and still fail in the field, or the other way round. We optimise for the field data your visitors actually experience, and use lab tests to find and check fixes.
Platforms
Theme, plugin, database and hosting fixes. See WordPress speed optimization.
Theme code, apps and images tuned for speed, with ongoing care through Shopify maintenance services.
React, Next.js and other front ends optimised for loading and interaction speed.
Server response, queries and caching improved for dynamic sites and portals.
Tech Stack
Better conversions mean more leads and sales without spending more on ads.
Core Web Vitals are part of how Google evaluates page experience.
Fast, stable, easy pages make people stay longer and come back.
How We Work
Real-user Core Web Vitals, lab tests, analytics funnels and heatmaps captured as a baseline.
Find what slows pages down and where visitors drop off.
Rank fixes by impact and effort, so the biggest wins come first.
Developers implement performance fixes on staging, then release them.
Journeys, pages and forms improved, with A/B tests where traffic is high enough.
Lab tests immediately, and real-user data as it updates over the following four weeks.
Ongoing checks so new content, apps or scripts don't undo the gains.
Why EIT Connect
No handing a report from one vendor to another; we find and fix both.
Fixes are coded and released by our own developers, not left as recommendations.
We optimise for the field data Google uses, not just lab scores.
If your traffic is too low for reliable A/B tests, we'll use research methods that work instead.
If optimisation isn't enough, our website redesign services and UI/UX design teams take it further.
Website optimization services usually cover speed and Core Web Vitals improvements, conversion optimisation of key journeys and landing pages, checkout and form fixes, mobile experience, technical SEO health and accurate analytics tracking, with before-and-after measurement.
Start with whatever is costing you most. If pages are slow or failing Core Web Vitals, fix speed first, because it affects every visitor. If the site is fast but visitors don't act, focus on conversions. Often both are worked on together.
The PageSpeed score is a single simulated test. Core Web Vitals in Search Console use real visits from Chrome users over 28 days. Real devices and networks vary, so the two can differ. Google uses the real-user data.
Lab improvements show immediately after fixes go live. Real-user Core Web Vitals data updates over about four weeks. Conversion improvements depend on traffic levels, but are usually visible within a few weeks.
Reliable A/B tests need enough traffic and conversions to reach a clear result. For lower-traffic sites, we use analytics, heatmaps, user feedback and best-practice fixes instead, then measure the before-and-after change.
Website performance optimization means making pages load and respond faster, through better hosting and caching, lighter images and fonts, less and smarter JavaScript, fewer heavy third-party scripts and cleaner code.
Cost depends on the size and platform of your site, how many issues are found, whether conversion research and testing are included, and whether you want a one-time project or ongoing optimisation. We share a quote after a free website check.
Changes are made and tested on a staging copy first, then released carefully. We check pages, forms and tracking after each release and can roll back if something unexpected happens.
